Albany Tile, Carpet & Rug’s Sarah (Sally) Carpenter recently returned from a weekend meeting for the new board members of the regional chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers (“ASID.”) This fall, she officially began a two-year term on the board as its professional development officer. Like many other professions, interior designers are required to engage in continuing education to stay current with technology, codes, and emerging trends to maintain their standing in the society and their profession. The continuing education requirement is in addition to a formal education in design and professional testing for those who wish to call themselves a professional interior designer. Sally is busy becoming familiar with her new board position and will keep us posted with upcoming student and professional ASID events. Designer, or just a design enthusiast, do you have any ideas you can share with Sally for design related events? Please feel free to contact her at [email protected] with your ideas or if you have any questions about becoming a part of the design community and ASID.
